I've had the Magellan 315 for about 5 years. They don't make that model anymore but mine has held up like a champ. I've taken it paddling and hunting and have never had a problem. If it ever quits, i'd probably try to find another used one of the same model. When paddling, I always keep in a dry bag on deck, but take it out at the end of the day. I've never dunked it, bit i do keep silicone grease on the rubber seal just in case it ever does go for a swim. They do tend to eat batteries. A fresh pair will last 8 to 10 hours of continues use.
