Fibreglass Top of Hatches on Chesapeake 17LT
Am basically finally done with the build and am wondering should I glass the top of the fore and aft hatch? It might add a bit of strenght, also color of finish varnish and look might match the deck better. Any comments from someone with more knowledge than me. It is nice that the warmth has returned.

I would be concerned with moisture and possible warping w/o the glass. I recall that I read in a post on this forum that moisture got into some-ones boat or a part of it before completion and it did some nasty warp # on it.

I don't know if it's really necessary, but I glassed mine. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Yup, fiberglass 'em. It'll help keep them from getting beat up when you drop one.
