Wow jacknlin --great looking design work and boats. Still in the stitch and glue and glass stage on my WD 12 hybrid --but the strip design is on my mind> I do have the wood all at the same dimension after running it through a thickness planner, but still have all the 1/4 strips to rip and the bead & cove to do. I have -[light to dark] Alaska yellow cedar, Spanish Cedar, Peruvian Walnut, and for a splash of color or inlay some purple heart. The possibilities are endless and your photo work does help..Thanks

Great looking boat dex  great job on a first boat--thanks for sharing

RE: Ideas for strip-plank layout

I don't have any specific Ideas, but I can say you do not want any design to be going across the beam of the boat.  I did this and it took me 10 times longer to finish stripping the deck!
