Reinforcing stern of a passagemaker
A few weeks back Ihe mistake of trying to winch my PM onto the trailer, with both the weight of the outboard and the two bags of sand I usually carry for ballast at the stern. I heard a crack and lessened the load. Later I see the source of the crack was on the stern seat around the brace attached to the transom.. whats the best way to reinforce this area.?

RE: Reinforcing stern of a passagemaker
I had some serious questions about my fat butt sitting down too hard on the stern thwart, so I fabbed a support strut, similar to what's under the mast base where the thwart meets the transom. I also added an additional knee above deck, spaced wide enough for an electric trolling motor to clamp to the doubled transom. This was all great info from a long defunct Passagemaker build forum from one of the early builders.
