Modified Flat Back deck on Chesapeake 16
Does anyone know if there are plans, description or just photos showing how to lower the back deck on a C16? I have a full volumn C16, and have heard it has been done. I wondered if it allows doing layback rolls. Just dreaming but very interested. Thanks Chris

Are you talking about retrofitting a lower aft deck onto your already built CH16 or building another with a lower aft deck?
I'd submit that the retrofit would be a very major modification requiring removal of the cockpit coaming and aft deck. Sure it could be done but no guarantee the result would perform the way you want and would likely look odd. I's submit that building a new boat would be easier. The lower decked CH16LT would be better but boats (like the Petrel Play) with cockpit recess would be even better.
