Passagemaker Takeapart Kit Bulkhead fit
I’m wiring in the bulkheads prior to tabbing the exterior seams. Is it unusual for the bulkheads to extend past the sheer line by approximately 3/16 in? The bulkheads s appear nice and tight to hull interior and I don’t see anymore slack to take out to sink them lower in hull. Only way I can see is to loosen hull seams to open them up which doesn’t seem like the right way to go forward.

Yes, not to worry. If the "shark fins" stick up a bit, you can easily shape them to fit your gunwale (another great use for the Shinto rasp). Or, you can do like I did and make the rub rails cover the exposed plywood edge of the shear plank, which will make them flush with the top of your "shark fins". BTW, I also doubled up all my "shark fins" to give it a beefier appearance and for more meat for the padeyes I used for the shrouds.

Looking back at some photos, ours did stick up a bit. We rounded them off flush once everything was glued up tight.
