Paint Peeler bottom before flipping?
It was very difficult to turn my Peeler over to do the bottom. Heck, I've pulled heavy engines out of cars easier than flipping that boat. I am thinking I only want to turn it once more. To that end, I am considering painting the bottom only, not striking the water line, before I turn it to finish up. From there it goes right onto the trailer. Any reason not to paint the bottom now? First build, going good so far.

RE: Paint Peeler bottom before flipping?
Charles,
I agree with Catboater. My only caution would be to make sure the paint on the bottom has fully set up and dried before you put her on the trailer. I'd give her at least a week if you can.
I never did strike a waterline on my Peeler. I'm going to this Spring, because next season she'll be living on a mooring instead of her trailer and will need anti-fouling paint. Fortunately, I have strong grandson's to help flip her.
Cheers,
Divk

No reason at all. I did and had no problems. (except for a few dribbles) You ca strike the water line after it's upright.
