Installing a drain plug in the peeler
I need advice on installing a drain plug in the peeler. This is probably pretty basic but since I'm going to drill a big hole in my beautiful transom I want to get this right. I don't see in the manual where it tells you how. I have read that one of the CLC guys says to "drill, fill, drill" (drill a bigger hole than required and fill with thickened epoxy and drill a smaller hole through it). I did this when installing my bow and stern eyes.
I bought the brass drain plug from CLC. What size hole should I drill? In the middle at the bottom from the inside going out?
Thanks, Jack

I put the plastic drain in the floor and then in the transom of a dory. The boat had 3 coats of epoxy done so after I drilled the appropriate size hole all I did was use a gloved finger and smeared 3 coats of unthickened epoxy around the bare wood hole. Sealed well.
