Pre drilled stiching holes and epoxy precoating on Passagemaker

Two questions.

My passagemake has pre drilled holes. Should I still pre coat with two coats of epoxy prior to hull assembly.  I see on shop cam this week they are not pre coating anything?

If I do pre coat, has anyone had problems inserting the wires in the pre drill holes.

Thanks

Anthony

RE: Pre drilled stiching holes and epoxy precoating on Passagemaker

Anthony, I asked a similar question when I built my Sherry. It seemed like I would get a better finish if I spread the epoxy while everything was flat, but I was advised against it. My understanding is that it will make the wood significantly more stiff and difficult to work with. I did sand everything down to 220, which made me smile later on when I realized I didn't have as much sanding to do after gluing together the boat. Hope that helps, Sam
