its a long narrow channel to get from dock to lake for me. oh ya and too shallow to put down dagger board. So when wind blows boat slides sideways into reeds not much fun and even harder to row around or through. I'm thinking of increasing the size of the keel longer and tapper back deeper......any thoughts?

It would be a lot easier to put the daggerboard down partially. Use something like an old bicycle tire to create a removable detente around the daggerboard to control the depth of insertion.
