moving a glued down seat

I glued my seat (hot seat grande) too far forward on my SH16. Is there a way that I can relocate it without damaging the seat or the adhisive?

Thanks.

RE: moving a glued down seat

   What kind of glue?

RE: moving a glued down seat

Hi. I used the thin film glue that came on the seat. The seat is glued to the bottom.

   Suggestion #1,  Call the manufacturer.

#2  Turn the boat upside down in the sun and see if the heat will loosen enough to start prying one edge up. (use a spatula?)

#3 see if a little alcohol will loosen the glue?

#4 Cut it loose with a long flat flexible blade, assume you will have a mess to clean up and or refinish.

#5, Call the manufacturer!!

I would contact the manufacturer. The glue may have welded the seat to the hull. If that is the case alchol or other solvent might be able to disoolve the weld and maybe the epoxy. You might be able to use painter's 5-in-one tool or a multi-tool to cut the seat from the hull but you will have some cleanup to do.

I am a fan of no glued fixtures. Bolt or strap them on becaus one can always fill a hole with epoxy ane wood flour and start over.
