Utah Wooden Boat Rendezvous (Aug 2, 2014)

We're holding an informal get-together for wooden boat builders, owners, and enthusiasts on Aug. 2, 2014 from 1000 - 1500 in Heber, Utah.

The details are posted here if you're interested in attending: http://www.utah.com/events/#/event/2826514-utah-woodenboat-rendezvous?radius_miles=200&location=84627-ephraim&sections=all&date=2014-08-02.

In addition to other small craft, at least two CLC kit boats will be in attendance.

This is free - we're just there to have fun.

Andrew

RE: Utah Wooden Boat Rendezvous (Aug 2, 2014)

Hello, i saw your event and wondered if anyone can help me.  My family has a 85 acre ranch in Heber with many ponds.  My daughter is getting married and would like some wedding pictures using a boat on one of the ponds.  I think it will need to be a stable boat and look nice.
Would anyone be willing to lend or lease out a boat for the 29th of July for these pictures?

Thanks for you time,
Jon Dickman

I hardly ever look at the CLC site and hardly ever the forum....glad I saw this.     I was born in Seattle and lived there for 50+ years and never had a boat.  We moved to Utah 7 years ago and I promptly built a CLC Passagemaker.  I've only sailed it on Oquirrh Lake (Say "Oaker") in Daybreak (South Jordan) and have been anxious to sail somewhere else.  This looks like a great opportunity.  I'm making plans now to attend.

Hello Andrew...

A couple of things.

Is the event at the State Park?  I was wondering if it would be OK to bring the dog.  If it's at the State Park, the answer is no...if somewhere else, perhaps?

Also...

When you go to the link http://www.utah.com/events/#/event/2826514-utah-woodenboat-rendezvous?radius_miles=200&location=84627-ephraim&sections=all&date=2014-08-02  that shows the event, then click on the directions...it takes you to a Lake Arrowhead in California:

Looks like a nice lake, though.

I'm glad I finally have a chance to get back to all you that took the time to post questions on this thread:

Russ -- I'm looking forward to seeing the Passagemaker you built up close. It's a top-notch design.

Isoart -- I just checked the Island Park recreation area's rules on the Deer Creek State Park's Web site and unfortunately dogs are not allowed on boats or beaches. I'm sorry I didn't consider dog owners when I picked the venue. Perhaps next year we can find a more pet-friendly venue so that bipeds and quadrapeds can participate.
