RE: Link to current Kakolo 14 Build

Thanks for sharing Steve, beautiful tailblock design!

I am doing a 12-6 from plans, but I am currently on hold as its too cold in my shop to do the fill coats effectievly. I don't have a blog but plan to do a wrap up post on here once its finished this summer.

I am 90% done a 14 from plans so only about 80% of the work to do  - I will post the results and a few build pics soon.  I would have done a blog but so many others like you have demonstarted the right way to build a kaholo - my blog may have been a dmonstration of things not to do....

newtosup,

Thanks on the tailblock.  I'm fortuate to have a large heated place to work...makes life a whole lot easier.  Best of luck on your build...stickynick too.

While we are talking about tailblocks I figured I'd post a link to mine. I have the hull and deck both fiberglassed but no fill coats.

Its Ipe and Purpleheart ripped into 1/4" strips. Before fiberglassing I sanded to 220 grit then wiped it with denatured alcohol to remove sanding dust. I hope the color stays the same once fill coats and varnish are applied as I am very happy with the colors.
