I am considering using round automobile door gasket material on mine. I have a 12 year old Impex Susquehanna with fiberglass hatch covers and that is what Impex used back then and it works great. They still use it on their lower priced Formula series kayaks which are exactly the same as the Impex models, but with old deck molds from before they started putting compass recesses, day hatches, and VCP hatch covers on them.
