Pattern Paper Installation Question

I have made a design for my kayak with a laser printer on dress pattern paper as described on this forum.  The practice instalation on scrap material worked well and I like the result.  I plan on putting the design on the fore deck and I can see that I might have problems keeping it in place while I smooth out the fiberglass fabric on the deck.   Is there any trick to getting it to stay in one place?  Can it be applied with clear epoxy and left to dry before laying the 'glass down?  Thanks in advance!

RE: Pattern Paper Installation Question

Hi Scott,

Lightly tape the edges with painters tape while you wet out the center, remove tape to wet out the edges and the image should stay put. You can let it dry and put cloth over it with no problem, I even sand mine lightly to remove small wrinkles ect. Any haze disappears with the next layer of resin.

What is dress pattern paper? I need to get a good paper for adding a nice pattern on my boat.

It is the very thin paper that sewing patterns are printed on.

Here's what it looks like under epoxy prior to fiberglass.  Thanks for the info Chris.
