Skerry Interior Daggerboard trunk epoxy coating

I'm probably obsessing over this, but at the Newport  class we built the Skerry with only one coat of epoxy on the interior of the daggerboard trunk.  The manual calls for two coats of epoxy.  Is the second coat necessary / desireable, and if either, does anyone have thoughts as to how a second coat might be applied to the interior of a completed trunk without making a mess of it.  Thanks, Bob

Well, I was there, and recall how thickly we put it on.  That was definitely two coats in one.  Don't worry about it.

Thanks John; Gail and I are moving along nicely on our Skerry.  This is our first boatbuilding project and so our questions may seem sophomoric to some in this group, but I think someone else said just recently in here, "You have to start somewhere...."

And thanks again for a great week in Newport.  Our neighbors are already impressed with our beautiful boat and it still has a long way to go.  Best,  Bob
