I have a Ches16 that I have fished out of for years. It's really hard to do without the rod holder! I have the clc rod holder and plan to mount it on the deck 4 inches from the cock pit. How have you mounted it? Did you use anything on the underside to secure it stronger? If not is it holding up?
I plan to drill fill drill. Do I use thickened (wood flour) epoxy?
Thanks in advance,
Dawn

I would recomend using a backing plate to spread out some of the stress you could place on the holder. Here is a picture of a doubler that I used for the RAM ball mounts on my MC 16.5. You could also use large fender washers if you don't want to go through all the hassle.
