Any thoughts on a portage yoke for the open style cockpit

Paul, I'd think the cockpit is too shallow for a portage carry like you'd do with a canoe. If you have rod holders on the sides maybe you could make something that would go across and plug into them. Good luck. SEEYA Jack

I would guess that the shallow confines will be a problem for a traditional mount I need to think of some sort of modification that would hike the boat up a little higher and allow for the 1/2 mile portages. Thanks for the thoughts. I appreciate it.

Another thought. How about a well in the center of the cockpit that was simi dry with a cover like that on most kayak decks or dry via a screw in plastic hatch cover. With cover removed your head would fit in the well (to eye level) and would aford you the space between the hull and cockpit bottom as additional room. This may not be enough by it self but with sholder pads that fit in rod holders mounted in the cockpit combings maybe would work. SEEYA Jack
