Refinishing old Cheasapeake LT 17
All,
I have a ten year old LT 17 that I need to refinish prior to this season. Over the past season the finish has really gone over the edge and needs some help.
How should I prep for a new coat(s) of varnish? I would appreciate anyones assistance in step by step recommendations to include grit of sandpaper.
Thank you in advance, Shannon

If you don't have any gouges, just wet sand the old varnish off with #440 and re-apply 3 to 5 coats of new varnish, wet sanding between coats.
If you have some especially nasty gouges even after the wet sanding, roll on a new coat of epoxy over the gouges, sand it smooth with #220, and re-apply 3 to 5 coats of new varnish.
It's just the same thing you did 10 years ago.
