My wife and I just completed our builds of a Chesapeake 16LT and a 17 LT. Our kits arrived eight weeks ago.
Many thanks to the experts and others on this forum as well as the CLC DVD and manual. They made this a very enjoyable experience. Our boats don't quite have the "pro" finish I read about, but they appear to be functional.
Weights are about 47# for the 16LT and 51# for the 17LT. We do have the rubrails installed. Someday we will try to clean up the drips & runs on the interior and may shave off a pound' or so!
Launching will be in the Adirondacks later this week.

RE: Two Chesapeake LT's completed
Wow, 8 weeks! I started on a single Mill Creek 16.5 on April 3 that I plan to launch on Father's Day. I thought I was making good time, but you have shattered my effort with two yaks in 8 weeks.

Wow! Those are some very nice kayaks! I like the idea of building two at a time. Congratulations on your success!

Nice lookin boats. Two in 8 weeks- it sounds/looks like you must be retired> Nice to have something else to do. Have fun with them.
