Deck Trimming-16.5 MC

First time builder. The deck is on. A little reluctant to start to trim the deck and am using the MC 16.5 kit. Suggestions as to best manual method---bonsai saw or japanese pull saw or other? Saw from the top with the cutting guide per instructions in the manual or turn over and cut from the bottom along the hull as I've seen some suggest??? Would appreciate any tricks from all you experts!!! Thanks.
