Ron's answer: Not really. The foot pounds of presssure needed will depend on the materials being clamped. The guideline is to apply enough pressure to hold the parts in proper alignment and you have a little bit of epoxy being squeezed out of the joint. Just a little.

Michael asked about the color of the mixture. This depends on the brand and type of epoxy being used. Some are yellow-ish, and some are clear.
