The old CLC North Bay is 20 inches wide so it needs careful watching, as would any narrow kayak. Also like nearly all West Greenland kayaks I've paddled it'll weathercock in wind. A skeg, retractable or otherwise always settles that boat down.

The Pax 20 is meant for flat water, and I've never heard it described as "unpredictable." Also 20 inches wide, it prefers skilled and/or athletic paddlers.
