Deck 'glass

I'm getting ready to 'glass the deck on my CH17lt. The instructions call for a 1.5" overhang of the cloth onto the sides. Does the entire 1.5" overhang get epoxied to the sides or should it be trimmed near the edge of the deck? Thanks David
