help with wood duck parts

Getting ready to do the hatch.. I am unsure about four of the parts because the instruction manual is not very specific

There are four ovals in the parts.

Two large ones that are both open in the middle. One is thick the other thin

Two small ones. One is open in the middle, the other solid

Could someone please tell me which is which? thanks in advance
