Canoe repair

I have an 1920's or so Indian Arrowhead wood/canvas canoe. It has a small hole in the bottom with some wood damage. Need help recanvassing it. Can't seem to find any locally other then books or publications. I don't mind doing it, I just need some hands on help. I need to have it done for my goddaughters graduation from college.(2 years). This canoe was purchased by her grandmother new and it has been in the family since. She doesn't know I have it ,so it will be a great gift. Thanks, Gary Coleman Powhatan ,Va.
