I may have come off as a bit combative there - sorry guys.

Good point, Bob. Even so, I know of at least one person who "stitches" the hulls using thickened CA (super) glue without any tape at all. I, personally, prefer tape, instead, in part because it doesn't produce toxic fumes like CA does. I'm sure there are other ways to do it, too.

One good thing about using off-brand, dirt-cheap tape for this, is that it apparently doesn't use the world's best adhesive. I rarely get any wood coming up with the tape. I do try to remove it from the hull as soon as possible, though, just in case.
