Isn't that how the Arctic Hawk is done? (haven't built one so I don't know).

Even so, the description in the original post was of tacking the panels with glue (not tape) and so it's understandable that the first replies were advising not to attempt that.

With this approach, have you had any problems with the tape pulling off the part of the veneer?
