Yes the wind "bites" here! Since the Great Lakes are so great they have an enormous volume of fresh water to hold heat so all but Lake Erie, the shallow one, do not freeze over and we get what is called "lake effect" snow/weather, that is, the lakes have quite the effect on the general area and by spring we could have nearly 2 meters of acumulated snow. I think the bay froze last night couldn't tell because of the blowing, falling snow. Baltic? I sometimes think Siberian!
