You are right, in hot weather the seasock will make you warmer, just as in the cold weather.

I all depends on where and how you use your kayak. If you are kayaking on a small river in the middle of Florida summer the seasock may not be for you. On the other hand if it is the sea (any sea), or any large and violent body of water, especially not too warm, seasock may help.

I forgot to mention that seasock also helps to keep the inside of the boat clean and dry
