Shearwater hatch problem

I am currently building a Shearwater 17 and have now finished cutting the hatches. So far we have done a great job keeping everything neat but have come across a problem that I was hoping to fix before moving to the next step. While cutting the corner of the back hatch we have made a notch where the saw did not turn quickly enough. Being new to boat building, I was hoping that there was a way to fill it. The hatch itself looks perfect.

One idea I had was to mix epoxy with saw dust from the temporary bulk heads so that the colour will match.
