wood duck tack weld

OK... I have the deck wired to the hull.. it looks great. Now I have to cut the wires, and prepare to tack weld.

I have to tell you, I am really nervous about this next step.

1. I have to tape the top of the side panel and the bottom of the shear panels so they dont stick when the deck is put on. Isnt this tape going to affect the rewiring of the hull and deck. I have them meeting perfectly now.. with the thickness of two tapes, wont it throw stuff off?

2. After tack welding, I am supposed to put some fillets in the bow and stern. I am worried that I am going to run out of time. Can I just skip the bow and stern fillets for now... and just tack weld.. and when I remove the deck, after it has cured, then do the fillets?
