No wrong ways here Erik. I have done it all sorts of ways and each has it's own great look. I just did an MC-13. I went light on the hull and bright on the deck and added a mahogony rub rail to enhance the sheer. Turned out great w/ just the right amount of contrast between the hull and Sepele deck.
