Bright or painted hull?
Posted by Erik Reikes on Nov 10, 2007
I am about to begin building a Wood Duck 12 and I'd like to know what people's thoughts are on a bright versus painted hull.
I have quite a bit of wood working experience, but this will be my first Kayak. How much harder is it to put a good bright finish on the bottom than just painting it? The only advantage that I know of for painting the bottom is that it is easier to finish. Does it provide additional protection other than that for scratches and such?
Thanks in advance.
