I generally fully glass the whole thing inside and out. It just seems to be the easiest. With 4-ounce cloth this results in a boat around 35 to 40 lbs. This will be pretty tough. The size of the fillets will effect weight and strength as well. Small fillets are light but more fragile.

The boat at CLC in Annapolis now has 10 ounce cloth on the hull, doubled up on the outside. The deck is 6 ounce. I built this to do BCU 5 star stuff - seal landing on rocks, etc. That degree of reinforcement is probably overkill for most uses.
