wood duck 12 shear panels

I am ready to start the deck, but after messing up my sides and bottom.. I just want to double check..

1) Where do the puzzle joints on the shear panels go? are they opposite each other? If so... are they toward the aft or stern?

2)Do I bevel both sides of the shear panel?

thanks in advance.. couldnt do this without all your help.
