Here is a picture of how I trimmed the deck to the hull. I used a spare piece of plywood as a spacer between the blade and the hull. It was cut it with the kayak upside down. That way I knew exactly where the blade was in relation to the hull. Cut starting in the center and work towards the ends to prevent any tearout working inot the kayak. If you start at and end and work inward you could start a crack or tearout and work it into the deck. I have used a lot of power tools so cutting with a jig saw upside down was not a problem. Might not be so easy for others. I then sanded the 1/4 lip flush to the hull carefully using a belt sander. Now I just need to wait for the rest of my resin to show up so I can install the foward deck.
