I'm not a river runner, not yet anyway. I would most definitely not take a plywood/epoxy composite boat into white water. Excellent boats the CLC's, not whitewater boats! If you really want to experience whitewater there are ABS Royalex canoes and rotomolded plastic playboats that bounce and slide off rocks almost like they were ping pong balls, something a ply' boat most certainly cannot do.

Your MC is great for lakes, slow moving rivers, even some gentle class I as long as you can see to avoid rocks, scout 'em before you run 'em tho', even salt water if you don't have to do a rocky surf landing, I must admit to no salt water boating at all so, myself; I'd stay in the bays and inlets.
