Newbie question about saw

Do you need both a Bonsai saw and a Japanese saw to build a Chesapeake 16 LT kayak?

I know you can use a Bonsai saw to trim the cockpit and cut the hatches. Can you also use a Bonsai saw to trim the decks, or is it a lot easier to use a Japanese saw for these long cuts?
