Sea dog braces

In a recent kayak race in a Pygmy Coho, a plastic keepers footbrace deformed and came off the rail. It happened in the last mile, so I didn't suffer too much. I have since replaced the braces with Sea Dog footbraces, which seem a bit more solid so far. Maybe the Keepers wouldn't have deformed if I'd attached the rail with four screws instead of just two.

Does anyone want a pair of Keepers footbraces? They want kinder, gentler legs than mine.
