If the crack is deep enough and you don't think a brush will shove the new epoxy right deep into it then use a syrine to pressure the epoxy into the crack. That will ensure there are no air pockets after the repair is done. Air pockets will prevent teh strongest possible repair and could cause a new crack to be bumped in the same place.
