Wood Duck for kids?
Posted by Guy on Aug 21, 2007
This question is for those of you who own, have paddled or are building a Wood Duck. I wondered if the cockpit has enough room for a small child to sit in front of your paddle. There are a few photos on the CLC site with a child sitting in front, but it seems a bit tight for smooth rowing for very long. This would be recreational paddling for a few hours around a large lake.
Our son is 4 1/2 and is too big to sit in my lap between me and the paddle. I'm trying to avoid buying a double just to accomodate the kid, who may only ride occasionally. Ultimately, I would like him to have his own boat, too. If only the new Shearwater came in an open double!
Any thoughts?
