Joinable two section kaya

I am looking at building a Chesapeake 18, but due to space constrains, thinking of make it so that it can be split into two parts that can be bolted together.

Thinking in line with racing rowing boats, where this is routinely done, I would make two rear bulk heads from 12mm ply, with about 5 x 5-6mm stainless steel bolts glued into the stern section. These bolts would pass through the bulk head into the main section and use wing nuts to hold the sections together.

Has anyone ever done this and have any tips or comments on making a kayak to be able to be split into two sections
