I like the round rubber hatch lid on a day hatch becuase it does not have any alignment problems going on when my spine is twisted to the stops while bracing with one hand bouncing in the chop miles off shore. Maybe I should just admit my age and use a paddle float. I think the rubber looks ok on a S&G. I also use a big enough day hatch to avoid the monkey fist trap when going for a water bottle.
