Chesapeake 18/crosswind

Paddled 9 mi. with a 10 knot crosswind. At least 90% of my strokes were on the starboard side. Only been paddling this yak for a mo. and I think it does track to the right a bit. I am thinking I need a rudder or burn it. Are there many of those who paddle long yaks using a rudder or skeg?
