Scarf joint glues

I know most people use a thickened mixture of epoxy to glue the scarf joints together on the plywood. Have any of you used a carpenters wood glue like Tightbond, Elmers or the Gorilla glue for the scarfs? Just wondering because I don't have any epoxy here yet and would like to glue up the sides before I leave for a week of travel. Thanks in advance guys!
