PFD
Posted by George P on Jul 25, 2007
I'm approaching the end of my build (still a ways to go, but good progress), and I'm starting to think of all the peripherals I will need to purchase: pump, paddles, paddle floats, etc. Anyway, I've been thinking of getting one of those low-volume pfds like Lazlo is wearing in the Duck pictures, the kind that you only blow up when you need it (gas cartridge operated). Seems like it would be less confining and more comfortable in the south Louisiana heat. Does anybody have an opinion on the pros and cons of this type of pfd? And where can I find one that's made for kayaking? The only ones I've seen have been the full-sized version for regular boating. Or can the full-sized version be modified for kayaking?
Thanks in advance for any input.
