Re: Tipping out

I think it depends on the quality of the foam brushes more than anything. My first boat I pulled out my "$26 Only Used For Varnish and Nothing Else Will Ever Touch It" brush and did the first coat of varnish. Spent the half hour cleaning the brush when I finished and was very happy with the results. For the second coat I figured why not try the foam brush? Worst that can happen is I have to do a bit of sanding and go back to the brush. So I got my Jen-foam 2" brush that I buy in bulk from Jamestown Distributers, applied the second coat and was absolutely amazed with the results. And it only took 30 seconds to walk to the garbage bin and toss it! I've used nothing but foam since. There are cheaper foam brushes, the MegaStore variety, but I don't think they're as good. And the beers may have helped.
