First Build:SH17/Wherry

Hi all, I've posted here a few times, tried out the shearwater 17 in mystic last week, and I'm itching for a fall/winter project. I'll probably be building both a annapolis wherry and a shearwater 17 eventually (read: inside 2 years), but i was hoping to find some opinions on which would be a better first boat to build. it seems the general hull on kayaks is simpler, however you have to deal with taping inside the seam between the top and bottom halves. The wherry has a lot of pannels, but no enclosed work. hopefuly someone has built both, or at least a kayak and similar boat, and they can chime in.
