Re: Working with kids

I built the Sass 16 (from plans, but that saves maybe only 1/5 the work - measuring and cutting), and both my kids, then 6 and 8 were involved all the way. They loved it, and thought I was the coolest dad in the world. Two years on, nothing's changed. We go out regularly, paddle up the lake and its feeder river, and no sign of boredom. They would rather paddle than watch the teevee or play nintendo.

Plus, for me, it's a work of art that I'll never forget making, with my own two hands. Two years on, I still give it a pat, and a smile and a kind word, every time I walk past, on my way to work.

Priceless... .
